Since 2009, Atelier Hui-Kan collaborates regularly with the Hakka people of Nankeng village, Hsinchu County, Taiwan.
In 2010, Atelier Hui-Kan and the community published a map, the first one, done by the inhabitants and the artist. This map covers the Thousand Steps old trail located behind the village. The area was once full of tea garden, then orchards, but nowadays returned to wilderness.
After a year of collecting stories and images, observing the local environment and retracing the life in these hills, a CD was produced, containing explanations and environmental sounds, a bit like a sound documentary, allowing the listener to travel on the Thousand Steps trail...
